Melissa Gould – Employer Services Assistant

I am an Employer Services Assistant and have been in this position for nearly two years. My role involves migrating employers across to use our e-commerce solutions such as Super FileManager and Employer Super Site.

I make life easier for employers

My job involves targeting the employers that should be introduced to our new e-commerce products and then assisting them transition from submitting manual paper based contributions to utilising our more efficient, cost effective and time saving services.

Work and lifestyle choices combine

I began at Superpartners in the Melbourne office just under three years ago. I started as a temp in the HOSTPLUS Benefits and Registrations team and was soon offered a permanent position as an Executive Product Administrator for HOSTPLUS Executive. About a year later my partner was offered a promotion to be based Perth. I therefore made enquiries about working for Superpartners in the Perth office, luckily there was a position available at the time and I was able to transfer. I was fortunate to be working for a large national company as this made the move across Australia easy. And it was great because I already knew the systems and processes so my new job in a new state wasn’t too daunting at all.

Like to get involved

Superpartners has provided me with great opportunities and rewards. I am the Equal Employment Opportunity Officer here in Perth which involves promoting issues of fairness and equality as well as being a point of contact for employees to raise issues and concerns of discrimination and harassment in the workplace. I have completed a PS 146 course which allows me to give Superannuation advice. The majority of staff in the Perth office have also recently completed a Business Letter Writing Course and soon I hope to start an ASFA 100 Certificate in Superannuation. Last year I was fortunate enough to receive a Bronze Award for our company’s national award programme, Applaud. I am currently the title holder of “Miss Westscheme,” it’s an award that’s passed on each year on Christmas Eve to the person in the team that has been a stand out.

Bride to be

My partner and I love entertaining so we often have guests visiting. I enjoy baking too, which is great for everyone here in the Perth office who get to taste test my sweet treats – including Welsh Cakes, as I’m from Wales! I’m recently engaged so in my spare time I’m busily organising my wedding which is in October 2010.

Passionate Client Relationship Manager
Talented saxophonist

Primarily my role as the IT and Project Delivery Client Relationship Manger, is to act as a conduit between our clients and the Superpartners IT team. It means that I’m in regularly contact with new technologies that assist our clients in achieving their strategic goals. My role also involves working as an IT partner to our own internal business clients. This inevitably provides me insight into the goings-on within Superpartners and allows me to contribute to ways in which IT can further improve its systems and processes.

As much as I love technology, I try and spend my weekends away from it (IT). If I’m not getting my hands dirty working on a project around the home, like building a pergola or re-landscaping the backyard/front yard, chances are I’m off on holidays somewhere. Nothing beats experiencing life’s cultural diversities for yourself rather than seeing it through the eyes of a TV programme presenter. There are a lot of wonderful people and places to visit and enjoy in this world and whilst I can I intend on seeing as much of it as possible!
