AustralianSuper and Westscheme to merge

On 8 February, two of our Clients, AustralianSuper and Westscheme, announced their intention to merge on 30 June 2011.

As a result of the merger, Westscheme will operate as a sub-division of AustralianSuper but will continue to retain the Westscheme name and brand.

The merger puts both funds in a stronger position to:

•         keep long term costs low

•         improve long term investment returns, and

•         give members access to more benefits and services

The Perth office will remain operational and is expected to grow as a result of the merger.

Our staff in the Westscheme fund team in Perth will have greater learning and career opportunities and will be provided with training as part of the merger.
