Superpartners is pleased to announce the appointment of Patricia Faulkner AO as Chair of the Superpartners Board, effective 1 July 2012.
In a career spanning the most senior levels of both the public and private sectors, Ms Faulkner will bring her expertise and strategic insights to lead Superpartners during a time of significant change for both the organisation and the superannuation industry. She has been a CEO of large and complex government departments, including the Department of Human Services, and held significant national practice management responsibilities as a Partner with leading global advisory firm, KPMG. Ms Faulkner was awarded an Order of Australia in June 2008 for her services to the field of Health and Social Policy, and a Centenary Medal in 2002 for services to Public Administration.
Ms Faulkner now has a portfolio of Board and advisory roles, both as Chair and Member. Her extensive experience in governance roles includes two periods as a Trustee/ Director of a large state government superannuation fund.
Ms Faulkner’s appointment follows the retirement of Mr Alan Beanland as Chairman on 30 June 2012, at the conclusion of his six year term. Mr Beanland is one of the longest standing members of the Board, and has been involved with Superpartners since its inception in 1983, when he managed Jacques Martin Pty Ltd, the predecessor of Superpartners.
The Board and Executive team expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to Mr Beanland for his leadership and guidance during periods of sustained and rapid growth in the business. Mr Beanland leaves a strong legacy of achievement and innovation within Superpartners and the superannuation administration industry as a whole.
