Superpartners staff have put their fitness and fundraising skills to the test in this year’s HBA Around the Bay in a Day cycling challenge, raising thousands of dollars for disadvantaged children.
The event, held on October 17, allows riders of all ages to cycle around sections of Port Phillip Bay, whilst also helping The Smith Family raise $1 million to help children break the cycle of disadvantage.
The 67-strong Team Super has raised almost $40,000 for The Smith Family this year, making it the third-highest fundraising team in ATB 2010.
Team member Rob Fowler has raised an impressive $23,471 as part of his ride in ATB, making him the highest individual fundraiser for The Smith Family.
The Smith Family’s Victorian General Manager Heather Le Roy thanked Team Super and Rob Fowler for terrific fundraising.
“We’re delighted to see such a large and generous team from Superpartners riding in ATB, and going above and beyond the call to help The Smith Family reach its $1 million target,” Ms Le Roy said.
“Thanks to the support of Team Super, we can give many more disadvantaged Australian children access to tutors, mentors and learning support programs to help them reach their potential, and end the cycle of disadvantage.”
There is still time to sponsor Team Super, and help The Smith Family reach its $1 million target. To sponsor a team member, or find out more, visit www.aroundthebayfundraising.com.au , and type in Team Super in the rider/team search.
