At Superpartners, we are serious about safeguarding privacy on all personal information we hold. We comply with the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act, both in the way we collect personal information, and by ensuring that it is handled securely. Superpartners handles personal information about our client Funds’ members, in order to provide administration services on behalf of the Fund Trustees. In doing so we comply fully with our client Funds’ Privacy Policies.
In implementing these policies, Superpartners:
- only uses and discloses the information as set out in those policies
- has taken security measures to prevent the information from being misused or disclosed without authorisation
- has trained its staff on their responsibilities under those policies
- have bound third party suppliers through confidentiality agreements.
Superpartners also implements the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act in the way we handle personal information collected from:
- the general public, when we respond to their inquiries, or receive application forms
- participating employers in our client funds.

Information we collect from the web
The information that we will collect about you will depend on how you use the facilities offered by the Superpartners web site. If you visit an unsecured area of the Superpartners web site (that is, an area where you are not required to log on) to read, browse or download information, our system will record the date and time of your visit to the site, the pages viewed, the operating system in use and any information downloaded. Our systems will not record any personally identifiable information.
Cookies
Cookies can be either 'persistent' or 'session' based. Persistent cookies are stored on your computer, contain an expiration date, and may be used to track your browsing behaviour upon return to the issuing web site. Session cookies are short-lived, are used only during a browsing session, and expire when you quit your browser. Upon closing your browser the session cookie set by this web site is destroyed and no personal information is maintained which might identify you should you visit our web site at a later date. The Superpartners web site only uses session cookies.
How we handle e-mail
We will preserve the content of any e-mail and web-based mail that you send us, if we believe that we have a legal requirement to do so. Your e-mail message content may be monitored for security issues, including where e-mail abuse is suspected. Our response to you may be monitored for quality assurance issues.
Superpartners maintains strict standards to prevent unauthorised access to your personal information sent by email, and to ensure the correct use of this information. Your data is stored in a central database and access is available only to authorised persons.
Your rights of access
Once we have collected your personal information, you are entitled to request the details of the information we are holding about you. In order to request such information you need to contact us by letter, email or telephone and outline the nature of your enquiry. A response will be made to you in writing either by mail or email as soon as possible.
Product information
Your information may be used to inform you about new and existing products and services for the purpose of administering your superannuation or managed fund account.
Any direct marketing communication, not involving our primary purpose of collection, will contain an opt-out notice.
Security of our system
Superpartners takes reasonable steps to preserve the security of personal information in accordance with this Privacy Statement. All client information is protected from unauthorised access through the use of secure passwords, user log ons or other security procedures. Developments in security and encryption technology will be reviewed regularly. Our staff are trained to treat member information with the utmost confidentiality.
